Mid-Continent Construction was founded in 1976 as a commercial general contractor company, primarily building restaurants. From this base the company expanded into development and construction of larger and more diverse projects to include office buildings, hotels, mixed use developments and shopping centers. Many of these developments involved extensive site infrastructure work as well.

Mid-Continent Development & Construction (MCDC) was established in 1980 to better reflect the company’s continuing evolution as a complete developer/building and manager of all types of commercial real estate developments.

Client Base:

MCDC oversaw construction for some of America’s best known hotel franchisors, including Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza, Hilton Hotels, Hampton Inn, and Country Inn & Suites. Restaurants for which MCDC served as general contractor were McDonald’s, T.G.I. Friday’s, Cracker Barrel, Olive Garden, Marie Callendar’s, Cheddar’s and Bourbon Street Café.

Shopping center projects included Matteson Towncenter (Matteson, IL), Frankfort Towncenter (Frankfort, IL), and University Park Towncenter (University Park, IL). In addition, MCDC performed site and infrastructure work on Corporate Lakes, a 200 acre development in Matteson, IL and the 40 acre Bolingbrook Business Park in Bolingbrook, IL.

Honors:

MCDC hotels have been honored with numerous awards including “Development of the Year," and the coveted “Torchbearer” award signifying their being one of the top 20 out of the Holiday Inn system’s 1,600 hotels.
